The Hueyotlipan International Film Festival invites all fiction filmmakers anywhere in the world to participate in the second edition of MIC HUEYO that will be held from July 16 to 22, 2022 in the municipality of Hueyotlipan Tlaxcala, with various locations within the same state of Tlaxcala.

The exhibition seeks to create a space for the communities belonging to the municipality of Hueyotlipan to meet in front of the different selected productions and to create new audiences for the cinema. In the same way, showing feature films and short films in alternative spaces for any public outside the municipality

The Hueyotlipan International Film Festival is a non-profit and non-competitive event, the selected works will be screened in free performances available to the public. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Fiction productions may be registered in the following categories:

International feature film (over 30 minutes)
International short film (under 30 minutes)

Aimed at productions not made in Mexico or Latin America, or that its director does not have Mexican or Latin American nationality. If it is a footage with a language other than Spanish, it must include Spanish subtitles.

Latin American Feature Film (over 30 minutes)
Latin American short film (under 30 minutes)

Aimed at productions made or whose director has the nationality of the following countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic , Uruguay, Venezuela. If it is a footage with a language other than Spanish, it must include Spanish subtitles.

National feature film (over 30 minutes)
National short film (under 30 minutes)

Aimed at productions made in Mexico or whose director has Mexican nationality. If it is a footage with a language other than Spanish, it must include Spanish subtitles.

International children’s feature film (over 30 minutes)
International children’s short film (under 30 minutes)

Aimed at productions whose audience is children and / or family, from any country, not made in Mexico or Latin America. Regardless of the place of production or the nationality of the director. The footage must be spoken in Spanish or not have dialogues.

National and Latin American children’s feature film (over 30 minutes)
National and Latin American Short Film (under 30 minutes)

Aimed at productions whose audience is children and / or family, made in Mexico or Latin America. Regardless of the place of production or the nationality of the director. The footage must be spoken in Spanish or not have dialogues.

Guidelines:

1. The sample will be held from June 16 to 22, 2022 in the municipality of Hueyotlipan, Tlaxcala and the 11 communities that comprise it..

2. Registration will have the following costs (in dollars):

  • International feature film: $3
  • International short film: $2
  • Latin American feature films: $2
  • Latin American short film: $1
  • International children’s feature film: $2
  • International Children’s Short Film: $1
  • National feature film: Free
  • National short film: Free
  • National and Latin American children’s feature film: Free
  • National and Latin American children’s short film: Free
  • Students (any category): Free

3. The registration date will be open from September 1 to December 30, 2021, there will be no extension for registrations outside these dates.

4. The works must have been completed after June 2019.

5. The works may be of any genre within fiction, commercials, video dance, video clips, reports or documentaries will not be accepted..

6. All registered works will be viewed by MIC HUEYO’s specialized selection and programming committee, its decision will be final.

7. The owner must have all the rights of use and exploitation of the registered work. In case of legal problems related to the productions, MIC HUEYO will disclaim any responsibility and said work will be excluded from the show.

8. The works registered and selected will be part of the collection of the sample and may be part of projections in various circuits whose activities are non-profit and completely free, all with prior authorization from the director.

9. The owners of the selected works will be notified of their participation in the exhibition on April 1, 2022 and will have until April 20 to provide the following materials to the exhibition:

  • Official poster in .jpg or .png and .pdf formats in high resolution (300 DPI)
  • From 6 to 10 stills of the work in .jpg or .png formats in high resolution (300 DPI)
  • From 2 to 5 photographs of the director in .jpg or .png formats in high resolution (300 DPI)
  • Technical sheet with synopsis of maximum 300 characters.
  • Trailer or teaser of the work (optional for short films)
  • Filmography of the director
  • Contact directory of the director and / or producer and website or official social networks of the work.
  • Any extra broadcast and press material that the feature film has.
  • A download link of the feature film or short film in high resolution 1920x1080px, H.264 format, in case it is a footage with a language other than Spanish, it must include Spanish subtitles in .srt format

10. MIC HUEYO is authorized to use the images, trailer or teaser and up to a maximum of 3 minutes for short films and 7 minutes for feature films to be used in advertising, dissemination and communication materials exclusive to the festival.

11. If a footage with dialogues in a language other than Spanish that does not have subtitles is selected, MIC HUEYO will offer the possibility of translating from English to Spanish, through a third party, at an additional cost, depending on the number of lines. Failure to have Spanish subtitles will be eligible for the disqualification of your footage.

12. Enrollment in the sample means the reading and acceptance of all the aforementioned bases.
